I have always loved Photography. I grew up with it. My Dad was a Photographer, in the days when cameras used film, our downstairs bathroom was converted to a dark room for film processing and our garage became a photography studio. Everywhere we’d go was always a Photographic opportunity, so from a young age I learnt to understand light and see what other people don’t see. And now I am the same with my own two children, everywhere we go, my camera goes too. Just in case an opportunity for a Photo should arise!

I used to work in the corporate world, working in digital mapping for 15 years and doing Photography as a hobby on the side. When my children were born I wanted to capture, savour and remember every single little detail and I seriously started learning Photography, spending every spare moment in each day I could find, taking classes, learning, practising, growing, because I love it and love learning about it. Then I took the plunge to persue my love and passion; I swopped maps for Photographs and Emma Joanne Photography began.
